AVB Gone

Then nail finally came down on the AVB coffin yesterday, his three year plan only lasted eight months. His problem was that he tried to change to much too soon & in the wrong manor. AVB’s biggest problem was trying to deal with the senior players at Chelsea. It was clear that they didn’t rate him at all. Lampard looks like he was the biggest issue. AVB didn’t see him as a first 11 player, even though he has been a goal machine through-out his career at The Bridge, for some reason AVB didn’t fancy him. He also upset Ashley Cole who said he came to Chelsea to win trophies but with his tactics they won’t win anything. Drogba was another who he upset, he should have been a starter been AVB persisted in playing Torres. Drogba was that upset he even started giving his own team talks in the tunnel. Terry seemed to be the only player on his side however with all his team mates unhappy I’m sure they went to him as captain and wanted him to have a word with the gaffer. Chelsea on the pitch have been under-performing all season it’s clear the old guard needs to be changed but they also can’t afford to finish outside the top four. They are capable of beating Napoli 2-0, getting into the top four and even winning the FA Cup, if they will is a different story. What Di Matteo has to try and do is

1. Sit the senior players down and say the club need them now so get your act together.

2. Sort out the Torres issue, he clearly hasn't worked and may need time out in the reserves to learn how to score again.

3 Luiz, is he a defender or a midfielder? He has cost Chelsea goals at the back but he can find the net. It will be interesting to see how the players react to another new manager and who will be next in, it could be special.

Where has as it all gone wrong for Chelsea?

After Chelsea’s defeat in Germany to Bayer Leverkusen manager Andre Villas-Boas is a man under serious pressure no matter what he thinks. As Chelsea sank to their third defeat from their last five games I look into where has it gone wrong? Well Chelsea was on a run of six unbeaten going in to their game at Loftus Road towards the end of October. A game where Chelsea thought they would walk all over their London rivals. This didn’t happen that day in West London Chelsea lost the game and lost the plot. The repercussions of that match have still left an effect. QPR won 1-0, but the game will also be remembered for John Terry’s racist slur, Chelsea’s ill-disciplined team (7 yellows and 2 reds). Plus AVB was fined £12,000 after the game for comments made about the referee. Since that match Chelsea have only beaten Blackburn Rovers & Everton on penalties. Their defence looks weak, Terry is getting exposed and David Luiz is not the best partner. Centre of midfield is a problem, Lampard ...

Premier League 2015/16 Preview

Arsenal The Gunners are now running out of excuses to mount a serious title challenge. They have money, they have spent it, they have brought in one of the best keepers in the Premier League (Cech) so now can Arsenal finally go the distance and challenge again? We have seen them start slow then once the pressure is off end the season strong. Or they start fast then come to February time and crumble. What will we get this year? I will say Arsenal will do a lot better this year and get a lot closer to the number one spot points wise. An impressive pre season topped with Community Shield success their looking good, however I have them finishing 3rd this year. Key Man: Alexis Sanchez after what was an impressive first season in English football scoring 16 goals, Sanchez spent his summer guiding Chile to their first Copa America. I expect more of the same and for him to break the 20 goals barrier.   Aston Villa They survived last year off the back of Benteke goals, Delph and Grealish...

Chelsea, Hazard, BallBoy, Out of control

Chelsea once again made the headlines for all the wrong reasons this week. Eden  Hazard was the latest player to drag the clubs name through the dirt. The Belgium star kicked a ballboy who refused to return the ball  quickly back to the player in the Capital One Cup semi final match. Now we know this ballboy was in fact 17 years-old and what he is doing as a ballboy is a different story. They are supposed to retrieve the ball as fast as possible to the players. This one let it slide by him and took his time, fell on it and that’s when the incident occurred. After a bit of shoving Hazard kick the ballboy and ball from under him and ran off to re-start the match. It doesn’t matter what he wrote on Twitter about time wasting beforehand it was an empty tweet from a teen. The real matter is that a professional footballer, a role model an adult kicked a person on national TV. If this happened on the street he would have been arrested simple as that. Some peo...
